Diary of a Mad Netflix Fan

I love film. For a large portion of my life I have been really into film watching them, collecting them and now with Netflix I basically live for film (but I swear I have a life and am a productive member of society so have no fear). I enjoy film so much because not only is it a way to escape into another realm, concept, or even life but I holds a microscope to the world. Through film we can come together and grow, laugh even cry. Sometimes films can help bring a country together or inspire a nation. Film also can help inspire an everyday kid who may feel out of sorts, they see possibilities and are hopefully inspired to live life to the fullest.
As a child I watched many Disney film as well as other amazing children movies. I wasn’t into film all too much until it came to Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean (yes I am a dork and proud of it) from that point on I have been trying to watch every film known to man. My favorite actor is Johnny Depp. I admire him whole-heartedly; in fact it is one of my life goals to meet him. And no it is not his looks (even though he is very handsome) it is because he is not afraid to be different. He picks roles that make him grow, that challenges him, and even just for fun. I feel he is an admirable person and although he doesn’t have the cleanest of record I still feel he is a grand role model and has in fact inspired me in many ways.
As many others before me I have wanted to be an actor, director and then producer. Finally I have decided I want to stay low key and be a teacher. My wish is to teach film and theater. I want to inspire the young public and help them reach for the stars. I want them to be comfortable with whom they are and not to be afraid to shine. Too many kids are being left behind both in education and in spirit and I wish to change that. Film and theater helped me and I hope to do the same for others. I went to a small community college for communications where I took my first film class, film analysis. I loved it from the start and it opened my eyes to film (as well as showed me just how bad some films are). I am now a student at Binghamton University and am very excited for my knowledge to grow.
Off the bat I want to tell you that I may not be the best writer or critic but seeing as how film has become a major part of me I would really like to put my voice and view out there. You may not agree with me or think that I don’t know what I’m doing, but I’m ok with that. I just hope that I can be mildly entertaining and informative.
So on that note let the show begin…
